This month of December has seen some major developments for SelfKey as a project as well as the whole crypto industry.
Major updates that happened last month were:
At the start of the month, we had announced that users who have verified SelfKey Credentials will be getting a KEY airdrop worth 18,888 KEY tokens.
On Christmas eve, users were enabled to claim the KEY airdrop through the KeyFi platform.
First 1000 Users with verified Credentials will be able to claim 18,888 KEY tokens.
December also saw both the desktop Wallet as well as mobile Wallet getting updates. The most prominent update among this is the SelfKey Desktop Wallet getting upgraded to an HD Wallet.
With the update to the version 1.9.0, the SelfKey Desktop Wallet was upgraded to an HD Wallet.
For anyone not familiar with HD Wallets; HD Wallets are the type of Wallets that allows users to use a set of addresses under one single master Seed Phrase.
It is a recommended practice to periodically update your wallet addresses with a new one, but with the absence of an HD wallet, you will have to generate and backup a Seed phrase for each new address.
With HD Wallets, users do not have to worry about storing multiple Seed phrases for each newly generated address in their Wallet. Because users can use one single master Seed phrase for multiple addresses, and if needed, can use that one Seed phrase to restore all the addresses generated under that Seed phrase.
We believe that with this upgrade of the SelfKey Desktop Wallet to an HD Wallet, we have addressed one of the primary concerns from our community.
